About Kristin Groenveld

Teaching Artist • Nonprofit Leader • Advocate for Equity Through the Arts

I’m Kristin Groenveld, a lifelong teaching artist and the founder and Executive Director of Art Sphere Inc., a nonprofit making free arts education accessible to youth in Philadelphia’s underserved neighborhoods. For over two decades, I’ve championed creative expression as a powerful force for equity, healing, and community transformation.
My work blends art-making with social impact—turning classrooms, recreation centers, libraries and city walls into spaces for empowerment. Through hands-on workshops, custom-designed curricula, and public art projects, I guide students to tell their stories, build confidence, and imagine new futures.
Whether I’m leading a mural project with teens, designing citywide lesson kits, or mentoring emerging educators, my mission stays the same: to make creativity accessible to all. I believe that every child deserves a safe space to create, grow, and be heard—regardless of zip code.
I partner with educators, corporations, and change-makers who share that vision. Together, we’re building a more colorful, connected, and compassionate world—one brushstroke at a time.
Art is how we build bridges across difference, and how young people find their voices. I’m here to make sure they’re heard.”
